Wales Bonner once again joins forces with adidas, this time to celebrate the legacy of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar: One of basketball’s most iconic figures, he also was one of the first athletes to ever sign an adidas sneaker deal for the Jabbar model. The English designer’s twist on the silhouette is joined by a retro-inspired apparel lineup for fitting throwback energy.

Giving the shoe a premium suede upper update, Grace Wales Bonner adds her distinctive design language to the pair via technicolor stripes in crocodile-embossed leather. A gold foil ‘sky hook’ motif on the tongue, reprising Jabbar’s eponymous on-court move, and ‘Wales Bonner’ lettering stamped near the heel underline the collaboration’s refined yet playful approach. A jersey, track jacket and striped tube socks complete the lineup, drawing on the colors of his former teams, the Bucks and the Lakers.
