ADIDAS X BSTN MÜNCHEN SALUTE

We’ve teamed up with adidas to introduce an official sneaker for the Oktoberfest. Available in two subtle yet distinct colorways, the adidas München is the no-brainer choice for the collab, dropping on September 13th, one week before the 2025 Wiesn festivities.

While our initial Oktoberfest collaboration (2019) featured a ‘Prost’ [German ‘Cheers’] edition of the shoe, this year’s release has a distinct Italian twist with several ‘Salute’ brandings and logos. Already dubbed the proverbial northern-most city of Italy, Munich sees so many visitors from the Mediterranean country each Wiesn season that the second weekend of the festivities is known as ‘Italian’s Weekend’.

The ‘Salute’ [Italian ‘Cheers’] inscriptions celebrate this ‘home away from home’ relationship between Monaco di Baviera and its neighbors from the southern side of the Alps. The corresponding oval logo – derived equally from a beer coaster and a trattoria sign – also subtly adds the classic Bavarian checkered pattern to the tongue and insole of the shoe.

The main inspiration behind the release is the unique atmosphere of family, community, and culture that inseparably linked with and ever-present at the Oktoberfest. With ‘Brindiamo’ [Italian for ‘Let’s raise a glass’] found in bold letters on the collaboration’s crest logo, BSTN is raising a glass with and to the community in their hometown at the world’s biggest fun fair.

Made from premium quality nubuck, the München ‘Oktoberfest’ edition is available in two colorways – dark brown / dark green & taupe / sage green – that mirror classic color combinations traditionally found on lederhosen, a cultural staple of Bavaria as well as the Oktoberfest. The sneakers also feature a traditional pattern embroidered on each heel, subtly hinting at Wiesn culture without exaggerated symbolism, thus making the design more versatile – on the fairgrounds as well as on the street.

A unisex release, the shoe is designed for everyone, whether it’s paired with traditional staples like a pair of lederhosen, a dirndl or a contemporary take on classic Wiesn attire. The subtle design cues are a love letter to BSTN’s home-turf without screaming ‘Oktoberfest’, making the shoe as versatile as the offering of fairground rides found on Theresienwiese. As a special bonus, each pair comes with an additional pair of laces and a bespoke shoe box with wrapping-paper depicting a Ferris wheel.
